I can’t find all of my active posted items  

Classified and Request For Quote postings will be found in “Active” under the Postings heading and Open Bid postings will be found in “Active Postings” under Open Bid. This was done to bring you the most interactive negotiation forum possible for Open Bid items.

An alternative may be that the time on your posting has expired – Please see the following question for more details

My posting just ended and I cannot find it?  

Once the time has expired on a Classified or Request For Quote posting it will be in “Unsuccessful” under the Postings heading.

• Click “My Account” 

• Click on “Unsuccessful” under the Postings heading 

• Find the correct posting and click the “Choose Quote” button

• Choose the offer that best suits your needs and click “Accept this bid”

Once the time has expired on an Open Bid posting it will be in “Closed Postings” under the Open Bid heading.

• Click “My Account”

• Click on “Closed Postings” under the Open Bid heading

• Choose the offer that best suits your needs and click the “Accept” button

• Click the “Send Reply”

How can I search quote requests for a specific category of steel?  

• Click the "Home" tab 

• Click "Advanced Search" 

• Select the desired category from the drop down list under "Category (optional)"

• Scroll down to the "Refine your search (optional)" section and check the "Request For Quote" box

• Scroll down and click "Go"
  

• Open the posting of the item you wish to promote 

• Scroll down and click the "Mail this posting to a friend!" or "Mail this classified to a friend!" hyperlink

• Enter a single email address or multiple email addresses separated by a semicolon

• Type a message to the recipient/recipients

• Click "Send"

Request For Quote Postings

If there is time left on the posting we recommend that you have the buying company use their Steelbroadcast.net account or create an account to submit a bid.

• Open the posting that you wish to end early 

• Click the “Choose Quote” hyperlink 

• Once the company has submitted the negotiated bid click the “end it early” hyperlink – located just above the bid detail

• Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the “End Early” button

• You will be prompted that the action cannot be undone and click either “Cancel” or “OK”

• After clicking “OK” you will be brought back to the posting and you will need to click the “Choose Quote” hyperlink

• Select the bid that you want by clicking the “Accept this bid” button

If the buying company is unwilling to create an account 

• Open the posting that you wish to end early 

• Click the “Choose Quote” hyperlink 

• Click the “end it early” hyperlink – located just above the bid detail

• Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the “End Early” button

• You will be prompted that the action cannot be undone and click either “Cancel” or “OK”

• The posting is now considered to have ended – see below for details

If the time on the posting has expired or it was ended it will appear in the quoting users “Not Won” section under the Bidding heading. 

• To clear this item from your account click “My Account” 

• Click on “Unsuccessful” under the Postings heading 

• Click the box on the posting that you want to remove

• Click “Remove From List”

Classified Postings

To close a classified posting you can let the time expire or end the posting early. If you no longer want to be contacted about the sold material 

• Click “My Account” 

• Click “Active” under the Postings heading 

• Click the “End Early” button on the classified posting you wish to end

Open Bid Postings

• Open the posting that you wish to end early 

• Click the “View Trade Offers” hyperlink 

• Once the company has submitted the negotiated bid click the “Accept” button

• Click the “Send Reply”

If the buying company is unwilling to create an account

• Open the posting that you wish to end early

• Click the “View Trade Offers” hyperlink

• For each offer you will have to click the “Reject” button and the “Send Reply” button

• Click “Active Postings” under the Open Bid heading

• Click the “End Early” button under the Open Bid posting you wish to close
